Introducing AppPresser

In 2012, Matt Mullenweg gave his 2012 State of the Word presentation at WordCamp San Francisco. In it, he mentioned that WordPress was moving towards being an application platform.  In 2013, Matt, again, gave his State of the Word presentation, and again he mentioned that the future of WordPress was as an application platform.

“It was on this very stage, a few years ago, when we first introduced the concept of WordPress as an application platform… 2003-2007 was WordPress as a blog, 2008-2012 was WordPress as a CMS and 2012 onward, for the next 5 year trend, will be WordPress as an application platform as the dominant thing”

He showcased applications privately developed, by WebDevStudios, for clients like the YMCA and Dallas Museum of Art.  That was the beginning of WordPress as a framework for native mobile apps.  Now, 6 months later, We are so excited to announce the future of WordPress that Matt was talking about is HERE and it’s YOUR turn to build a mobile app with WordPress.
