Updates to all products, new AppBuddy extension

We just released updates to all of our products. Please see these important notes before updating.

Here are some things you can expect:

New features: An awesome new modal has been added to the AppTheme. The old bootstrap modal just wasn’t cutting it, so we made a much better one. The modal will be automatically applied to AppWoo login links, please see the theme docs to learn how to use it in other custom ways.

Support for footer tabs menu: lots of people have asked for this, and it’s ready! Please see theme documentation for instructions on how to utilize these new features: http://apppresser.com/docs/extensions/apptheme

We’ve added multitouch capabilites via hammerjs. That means you can access multi-finger touch actions through your apps, please consult their documentation for instructions.

Bug fixes: a variety of bugs have been fixed, including security patches.

Performance increases: we optimized Phonegap scripts for better performance, but more importantly we are introducing a new way of building your app that can make your app load a lot faster (more than 100% faster on 3G connections by our testing). New build files are available to download on your account page for this new method.

Please see our updated docs for information: http://apppresser.com/docs/building/#mcb_toc_head2 (note: make sure you upgrade all AppPresser plugins before rebuilding with this method)

New extension, AppBuddy

AppBuddy will allow you to create a social networking app using the WordPress plugin BuddyPress. It’s like Facebook in a box, and it turned out awesome!

AppBuddy will be released in beta to all Agency Bundle holders only. You will be able to download it from your account page once it’s ready.

Important Notes on Updating

Please update all AppPresser plugins and theme, including the core plugin, otherwise you will see errors.

As always, make sure to backup your site in case anything goes wrong.

If you have any trouble, please post in the support forum and we’ll help with any issues.

With appbuddy, is it possible to still have a news type app that includes BuddyPress integration? In other words, does AppBuddy limit you to it being merely a social networking app, or can we still have posts (that can be interacted with using appbuddy)?
