“Leve esperança aonde quer que você for.” Bring hope wherever you go. That is the promise of Joyce Meyer Português, the official Portuguese language app from Joyce Meyer Ministries. The app brings Joyce’s Desfrutando a Vida Diária programs, daily devotionals, articles and free e-books to Portuguese speakers around the world, all in their own language. It has been installed more than 100,000 times on Android alone, and it is built with AppPresser.
In this featured app spotlight, we take a closer look at the ministry behind Joyce Meyer Português, what the app does, who it serves, and why it is such a strong example of what happens when a WordPress site and a mobile app work together.
Who Is Behind Joyce Meyer Ministries
Joyce Meyer Português is published by Joyce Meyer Ministries, a Christian nonprofit founded in 1985 by Dave and Joyce Meyer, who have been in ministry together for more than 50 years. Headquartered in Fenton, Missouri, the ministry describes its mandate as to “share Christ and love people worldwide,” and its mission as spreading the Gospel of Christ, teaching biblical principles and encouraging service to others. It employs more than 500 people in offices around the world and is supported by contributions from friends and partners.
Joyce is a #1 New York Times bestselling author who has written more than 140 books, and the ministry reports that more than 83 million of her books have been distributed worldwide, translated into a combined total of over 160 languages. Her Enjoying Everyday Life television and radio programs air on more than 800 television, radio and internet platforms in 109 languages. The ministry’s outreach arm, Hand of Hope, has treated more than 4.2 million patients through medical and dental outreaches, hospitals and clinics, and provides clean drinking water in 50 countries through more than 3,180 wells.
Portuguese speakers are a big part of that story. According to Hand of Hope, sixty of Joyce’s books have been translated into Portuguese and more than 520,000 have been distributed through outreaches in Brazil, where the ministry has a field office, hosted a nationwide conference in Brasília in 2005, and has sent medical and dental teams that treated thousands of patients. The Portuguese edition of the ministry’s media lives at tv.joycemeyer.org/portuguese, where visitors can watch Desfrutando a Vida Diária, the Portuguese edition of Enjoying Everyday Life. Since 2006 the ministry has also been recognized numerous times as one of the Best Places to Work by the St. Louis Business Journal.
What the Joyce Meyer Português App Does
Joyce Meyer Português puts the ministry’s Portuguese teaching in one free app. As the store listing puts it, users can “Inspire-se todos os dias,” get inspired every day, with the official app of Joyce Meyer Ministries in Portuguese.
Here are the main areas the app covers:
- Desfrutando a Vida Diária, Joyce’s programs, with the option to watch the video or listen to audio only.
- Mensagens em Vídeo and Mensagens em Áudio, separate menu items for video and audio messages.
- Devocional, daily devotionals designed to encourage.
- Artigos, articles by Joyce with ideas for everyday life.
- Livros, Joyce Meyer e-books that can be downloaded for free.
- Como Conhecer Jesus, a page on how to know Jesus.
- Doar, social links and Podcast, plus Mais Línguas, a link to the ministry’s content in more languages.
What makes the app distinctive is that nothing about it is an afterthought translation. Every menu item, devotional, article and message is in Portuguese, from the Início home screen to the Voltar back button, so Portuguese speakers get the same kind of daily encouragement that English speakers enjoy, in a language that feels like home. The free e-books are a standout, putting complete books by Joyce in readers’ hands at no cost.
Joyce Meyer Português launched on the App Store in May 2021 and on Google Play a few days later. It is free on iPhone, iPad and Android, and on Google Play alone it has been installed more than 100,000 times and rated by more than 700 people.

Key Features That Stand Out
A Devotional Every Day
The Devocional section offers a short, encouraging reading for each day. In one example, “Reserve Tempo para Ouvir” opens with Psalm 5:3, “De manhã, SENHOR, ouves a minha voz,” and goes on to explain why setting aside time to hear God matters in a busy, stressful life. It is an easy way to begin each morning with the Word.
Free E-Books
The Livros section makes Joyce’s e-books free to download, right inside the app. Titles like “Esperança para tempos difíceis,” Hope for Hard Times, open with a cover image and the full text, so readers can start reading immediately. For many Portuguese speakers, this is a simple way to access Joyce’s teaching in book form.
Video and Audio Messages
Desfrutando a Vida Diária comes in both video and audio only formats. A message like “Livre-se de Pensamentos Estressantes,” Get Rid of Stressful Thoughts, features Joyce on screen with a short description, and listeners who prefer audio can play the same teaching without video. That makes it easy to listen while commuting, working or exercising.
Everything in One Menu
The side menu brings the whole ministry together in one place: Início, Mensagens em Vídeo, Mensagens em Áudio, Devocional, Artigos, Livros, Como Conhecer Jesus and Doar, plus Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and the Podcast. A Mais Línguas link leads to more languages, a reminder that this app is one part of a ministry that reaches people in more than 100 languages.

Who Joyce Meyer Português Serves
The first audience is Portuguese speakers who want Joyce’s teaching in their own language. Portuguese is spoken by hundreds of millions of people, from Brazil and Portugal to communities around the world, and the ministry has worked for years to translate Joyce’s books and programs for them. The app gives these believers a daily source of practical, Bible based encouragement, without needing to read or listen in English.
The app also serves people who want to build a daily habit of faith. With a devotional every day, articles for everyday life and messages that can be played as audio, it fits into a morning routine, a lunch break or a drive home. Readers who want to go deeper can download a free e-book and keep reading wherever they are.
Finally, the app serves the ministry’s Portuguese speaking partners and supporters. Through the Doar menu item and social links, they can give, follow the ministry on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, and stay connected to the global work of Joyce Meyer Ministries and Hand of Hope.
Technology Behind the App
Joyce Meyer Português is powered by Joyce Meyer Ministries’ WordPress site, tv.joycemeyer.org/portuguese.
The app is built from WordPress, and WordPress drives it. Programs, devotionals, articles and books live on the WordPress site, and AppPresser carries that content straight into the app, so updates made on the site show up in the app without a separate system to manage.
Looking at the site itself, these are the platforms behind the experience:
WordPress, the foundation for the ministry’s Portuguese media site. WordPress is the open source content management system that powers more websites than any other platform.WP Rocket, for speed. WP Rocket is a premium WordPress caching plugin.
Easy Social Share Buttons, for sharing. It adds social share buttons to WordPress content.
Menu Icons, for icon menus. Menu Icons is a WordPress plugin that adds icons to navigation menus.
AppPresser, which turns the WordPress site into the mobile app. AppPresser is a mobile app builder that creates native iOS and Android apps from a WordPress site.
What Joyce Meyer Português Shows About AppPresser
Joyce Meyer Português shows how AppPresser can help a global ministry serve people in their own language. The ministry’s Portuguese media site, tv.joycemeyer.org/portuguese, runs on WordPress, where programs, devotionals, articles and books are already published. With AppPresser, that content powers a native app, so the ministry does not have to rebuild it in a separate system.
That matters for a ministry working in more than 100 languages. Content published once in WordPress reaches both the website and the app, which lets a small team keep a language specific app fresh every day. The same approach powers Joyce Meyer Español, the ministry’s Spanish language app, which is also built with AppPresser.
The app also shows how far a focused app can reach. With more than 100,000 installs on Google Play and hundreds of ratings, Joyce Meyer Português proves that an app built from a WordPress site can serve a large international audience, and that a ministry can give each language community an app that truly feels like its own.
Congratulations to Dave and Joyce Meyer and the whole Joyce Meyer Ministries team on building an app that brings hope to Portuguese speakers wherever they go. We are proud to have AppPresser behind it.
