NEW DradCast App Built on AppPresser

DradCast App in iTunes

We are so excited to announce the latest AppPresser app to get accepted into both the Apple Store  Google Play for mass distribution on mobile devices everywhere!  You’ve met them at WordCamps …. You enjoy their weekly show on Wednesday evenings …. NOW you can download them to your mobile device and listen on the go!

Introducing DradCast – The App

DradCast App Built with AppPresser and WordPress

The DradCast App, available in the Apple Store (iOS)  and Google Play (Android) was created by adding the AppPresser core plugin and the AppPresser theme to the existing WordPress installation in place at dradcast.com.  Once activated, creating the app from that point was easy!  Dre and Brad decided to make a few fun things available via the DradCast app including:

  • A fun sound board that allows you to play along during the show by playing a few of the more popular sound effects, made popular by DradCast….including a short rap by Dre (check out the Dreminem clip!)
  • Audio clips of the most recent DradCast episodes.
  • Learn more about Brad and Dre … the two guys who make up DradCast.

An app with me rapping on it? My momma would be proud. Well, not really, but I am! I am finally the coolest kid on the block, although Brad may not think so. Not only is the soundboard awesome, being able to playback all the DradCast podcasts is super convenient! All I can say is, Booya! -Dre Armeda

AppPresser Offline

The DradCast app is the first offline app built with AppPresser – this means it can be used even when not connected to the Internet. This is especially important for mobile devices, which may wander out of coverage areas.

This is an experimental feature as of right now, so it is not available in the public version of AppPresser yet. We plan to continue researching and developing offline app capabilities in the coming months.

Don’t have a timeline yet, sorry. It’s a complex thing, but hopefully not too long 🙂

Dear Scott, offline capabilities sound amazing, but can you go a little more into detail what you are planning to do? Is it gonna be possible to have a list of offline files, that get included in the app? How is the MySQL database going to be loaded/updated? Once you download the app or everytime the user is online again?

Hi Konstantin, it’s currently possible to add limited offline capabilities to your app, but we are still working on making it really well integrated. I don’t have a lot to report right now, but we expect to have something ready in the next few months.

Offline mode would be very nice feature to be able to deploy. Look forward to seeing how this plugin matures.

Hello guys. I stumbled across your product while researching on what options I have in building an app that integrates with my website. I love the idea of having offline capabilities and auto sync when the app goes online. How far have you gone with the offline feature and when do you expect to have it ready. I notice you said “in the next few months” and that was in May.

    Cheers
