Changes to Agency Bundle and Support Forums
Today we have two major changes to announce.
We’ve already made some big improvements around here, including launching a new website design and revamping our docs. We are making strides to improve everything in your experience with us, from our website to our product itself.
The following changes are part of the big improvements we’ve already been making.
Agency Bundle Changes
The Agency Bundle contains all the extensions we make, as well as future extensions (as long as your license is active).
As of January 1st, 2016, the Agency Bundle will no longer include all future extensions. We are making this change because it is not sustainable to give away new extensions (essentially) free. We want to be around for many years to come to support and help you, and to do that we need to make sure our business model is sustainable.
Making this change incentivizes us to create more extensions for you, and it will allow us to develop our product further. Current customers will be grandfathered in so they can keep their bundle the way it is now, please read below.
Can I be grandfathered?
All customers who have purchased in 2015 or before can be grandfathered into the “all future extensions free” model. You just need to have an active license before 2016, and keep it current.
If you have not purchased yet, but want to get all future extensions free, you must purchase before January 1, 2016.
Who is grandfathered in?
Anyone who has purchased AppPresser before January 1st, 2016, and continues to keep their license active. That means you must renew your license before it expires. (You can renew in 2016 or after and continue to receive free future extensions, you don’t have to renew early)
Who is not grandfathered in?
Anyone who purchases after January 1, 2016, or lets their license expire.
If your license expires and you renew at a later date, you will still be able to use your Agency Bundle but you will not receive free extensions in the future.
In summary, to keep all future extensions free in the Agency Bundle, purchase before January and keep your license active.
If you let your license expire, now is a good time to renew it. You can still get a discount on your renewal, click here to renew.
Closing Support Forums
We are closing our support forums and moving everything to email support.
We love interacting with you guys in the forums, but our setup with BBpress is just an unwieldy beast. It’s extremely difficult to keep track of what posts need responses, and we don’t get notifications when there are new posts. We’ve already had some complaints about this, and in order to serve you better we need to drop the forums.
Email support is much more organized, and easier for us to respond faster. We have also revamped our docs recently, they are much easier to use now. We will continue to add to those, to ensure that it’s easy to find answers without contacting support.
I personally see the benefit in forums and like browsing them for products I use. However, we feel this is a change that will help us get you faster support, which is worth it.
We will answer any outstanding questions currently in the forums, and then close them to read-only. Eventually they will be taken offline. We are going to move many of the questions/answers to our documentation so that it is still searchable, but we also want to make sure outdated/incorrect answers are removed.
If you have any questions about this post or anything else, please first consult our documentation, then shoot us an email if you can’t find an answer.
We also added a handy widget to get quick answers, click the ? icon at the bottom right of this screen to check it out.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
