Recently Apple announced that they were deprecating a component called the UIWebview, used widely amongst app developers. The specific error is ITMS-90809: Deprecated API Usage, which you may have seen before.
Their announcement stated that they would no longer accept new apps to the app store starting in April 2020, and updates to existing apps in December 2020.
AppPresser 3 uses the UIWebview, which means that you will not be able to submit new AppPresser 3 apps starting April 1st, 2020. If you already have an app in the app store, you can still submit updates until December 2020.
Apple has not said that they will remove apps from the app store. If you do not plan to update your AppPresser 3 app, you do not need to take any action.
After these deadlines, you must use AppPresser 4.
What This Means For You
If you have an app under development right now, you either need to submit it before April, or update to AppPresser 4.
If you already have an app in the app stores, you have plenty of time. You can still submit updates until the end of the year, then you need to update to AppPresser 4 if you want to update.
In summary:
- The only people who need to hurry are those who have an app ready right now. Just submit it as soon as possible, before April 1st.
- Everyone else can take their time updating to AppPresser 4.
- If you do not plan to update your AppPresser 3 app, you do not need to take any action. It will remain in the app store.
When Will AppPresser 4 Be Ready?
